A very Angry IP Scanner.

Angry IP Scanner is a very small but versatile program that scans a range of IP addresses and then retrieves some additional information about each address. I really want to use this gem at work.
But I can’t.
The people at Symantec and McAfee think Angry IP Scanner is malware and won’t allow you to access it when you use their anti-virus programs. On the contrary, it’s actually very clean and safe to use and does wonders in helping network admins monitor their network.
There’s an online petition at the author’s web site which you can sign to persuade Symantec and McAfee to allow Angry IP Scanner to run. I see this whole mess as another example of anti-virus software companies becoming too protective and going too far when it comes to security. Hopefully the petition will persuade these anti-virus companies to think otherwise. Then the way will be clear for me to use a truly killer app at work.
