Last year I posted about some Karaoke spots in Palm Beach County. Unfortunately some of them have gone downhill to the point where they just aren’t worth visiting any more. Let’s have a look.
Karaoke Spotlight – The guy who runs this show is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met but I feel sorry for him on nights when his show is at the Top of the Spray lounge that sits on top of the Best Western Hotel in Singer Island. The management there has such an iron grip on the karaoke show there that it’s taken all the fun out of there. In addition to not being allowed to sing certain songs (“Shake Your Booty” is a no-no), the management has imposed some ridiculous operating hours on the lounge that has the karaoke show set to start at 7:30pm and end at 10:30pm. Until the management eases their insane control of the lounge, I just don’t see myself going back there anymore.
Tommy’s Tunes – This is one karaoke show that’s seriously gone bad. The guy who runs this show seems intent on getting his guests as drunk and rowdy as possible while emptying their wallets. So rowdy was the crowd at one show that the management of the restaurant decided not to have him or his show there anymore. I am hoping he lost the rest of his shows, and judging from the disappearance of his web site, I’m also hoping he’s no longer in the karaoke business.
