As the microwave oven began heating up my lunch, I decided this would be a good time for a quick phone call. So I sat down and tried dialing my voicemail only to get no answer.
Meanwhile, the other people in the break room were staring at me and snickering. I didn’t care to know why as I was more interested in knowing why my phone wasn’t working.
The snickering turned into laughter too loud for me to concentrate. So I turned to them and said, “Do you mind?”
“What are you doing?” One of the other people asked.
“Trying to make a phone call.”
“With a sandwich?”
I looked in my hand and was startled to see that I had been holding my sandwich the whole time. But if this was my sandwich, then where was my phone? That question was answered seconds later when the microwave oven suddenly exploded.
