The man who kept going to jail.

The siren lights were blaring
He had his handcuffs slapped on
He’s gonna have to spend the night in jail

He got out the next morning
He was feeling like a jerk
There wasn’t much to do now
But he went in to work

Everyone kept staring
But they didn’t have much to say
They saw he wore the same clothes
He had on yesterday

Finally the time came
For everyone to go
But alas, our poor friend
Would never make it home

He was driving on the highway
But then he was stopped
He was suddenly pulled over
By a traffic cop

The officer walked over
Our friend hoped for the best
But suddenly the cop yelled out
“Sir, you’re under arrest.”

The siren lights were blaring
He had his handcuffs slapped on
He’s gonna have to spend the night in jail

After yet another night
They finally let him go
But our friend just stood there
He was standing near the door

“Why do you let me go?” he said
“Why bother with the bail?
By the time dusk rolls around
I’ll be back right here in jail!”

“It’s been like this each day this week
It’s been a living hell
But every time the sun goes down
I wind up back in jail!”

“So why do you let me go now?
No way is this the end
Tonight you’ll only pull me over
And arrest me once again!”

“If you don’t mind, I’d like to go
And get myself some rest.”
But before he went outside the door
He was placed under arrest!

The siren lights were blaring
He had his handcuffs slapped on
He’s gonna have to spend the night in jail
