One of the podcasts I subscribe to is the Poem of the Day from the Poetry Foundation that features a reading of a selected poem each day.
Recently I heard a very haunting poem titled The Metaphysical Amorist by the late J. V. Cunningham. It sounds like an old recording but the reading is very dramatic. I sense this poem was carefully constructed so a slight rhythm materializes as you hear it. I’ve never heard anything like it. No wonder this poem is fast becoming one of my favorites.
