Once again it was time for my annual review and once again I was nervously seated in my boss’s office while he summarized my job performance.
“Excellent work as always,” my boss beamed, “You’re always on time, you do what’s expected of you and you’ve proven yourself to be a valuable addition to my staff. You’ve proven yourself worthy of earning a nice raise as well as a promotion to assistant manager.”
I wasn’t ready to exhale just yet.
“So,” I asked tentatively, “you’re not going to hold the shaving cream incident against me?”
“What shaving cream incident?”
