Tic-Tac-Toe in 3-D.

This is the coolest looking Tic-tac-toe game I’ve ever seen. The familiar X and O pieces have been rendered into wooden blocks that gently fall into a pool of crystal clear water and then float on the surface, moving along with the realistic wave effects. No doubt this is processor-hungry eye candy but if you have a fast enough computer with OpenGL, you’ll enjoy this unique approach to a timeless classic.

Some really slick screensavers.

Really Slick Screensavers is an awesome collection of 3D OpenGL screensavers for Windows. Some of the really cool ones are the fireworks-filled Skyrocket and the starfield simulator Hyperspace, but all of them are worth checking out. You will need a fast computer in order to be able to see these savers in all their artistic glory but I’m sure everyone out there has at least graduated out of those old Pentiums by now.

Space Invaders OpenGL.

Space Invaders OpenGLis a fantastic variation of the classic Space Invaders arcade game. It starts out as a normal 2D game until your ship catches a powerup pellet. The view of the game then rotates as the graphics take on a 3-D rendered form. This sudden transformation to 3-D totally blew me away. You can use the mouse to change the view of the game and even stick your favorite MP3’s into the game’s folder for some added musical fun. This is one of the coolest games I’ve ever downloaded.
