A most interesting dream.

I usually don’t share details of what I dream about on this blog, but last night I had a particularly interesting dream that I deem worthy of sharing.

I dreamt I was walking through a mall when I passed by a booth with a vendor selling a rather unusual stereo system. The speakers were clear plastic spheres the size of soccer balls with live goldfish swimming inside. The music was playing and rumbling out of the speakers at the base of the spheres. Poor goldfish.

The speakers respond to your touch and varies the music being played. Touch the speaker once and you hear only the drums. Another press of the speaker and you hear the bass accompanying the drums. Each successive press brings in the guitar, keyboards and vocals. It is possible to hear only the drum and vocals or even the vocals by themselves. The playback possibilities are endless.

The saleslady asked me if I was interested in buying one of the stereo systems but I asked her how many albums worked with it. There couldn’t have been too many that did, so buying one wouldn’t have been a wise decision.

And then I saw the large tank of goldfish nearby. It had no cover on it so I could see them swimming around by the dozens. I was holding my hand above the water, moving my fingers to see them respond when suddenly an aggressive goldfish jumped out of the water and bit my finger. I shook it off and it fell to the floor, and I picked it up to put it back in the tank.

Maybe someday stereo systems will have the ability to vary the playback of your favorite songs but without any crazed goldfish attacking your fingers.

The post that offended Germany.

Recently I dreamt I was browsing the Web when I came across an article written by a German columnist that mentioned an earlier post of mine that offended everyone in Germany. On top of that, the article states that I have since refused to retract the statements I made in the offending post.

I decided to go back and review what I wrote but I just couldn’t see what was so bad about it. Just for good measure I reread it several more times from varying angles and points of view but my posting appeared innocent each and every time. I can’t help wonder what’s so offensive about it considering it doesn’t even make a single reference to Germany.

I’m at a real loss here. I sense I am under great pressure to apologize to Germany but at this point I cannot ascertain exactly what it was I said that caused the uproar in the first place. Perhaps a little illumination detailing the specifics shall suffice.

So reads an ad in FUNED, a magazine in Dallas that offers classes in continuing education. I never really paid attention to it, but last night, a dream about it got me interested in the play, MURDER AT SOUTHFORK.

On the morning hours of July 1, 1987, around midnight, I fell asleep. Then I started to dream about Murder at Southfork. I was dreaming…

In my dream, I was walking into a room, where I saw an actress and an actor rehearsing for the performance. Both of these people were wearing painted Styrofoam heads, so identification was difficult. I saw the woman hanging from her neck, but she was still alive and conversing with the man.

Already, I knew that there would be screaming involved, and screaming makes me scared, especially if it startles me.

I went home, and there I saw my sister Lisa rehearsing for the play. Grandma had come over to stay with us, and was sleeping in Lisa’s room. Lisa was rehearsing in a dark Mom and Dad’s room. I was watching for just a while and then I started to head for my room. It was so dark in this house, and I just wondered why.

Suddenly I heard a gunshot.

Followed by a long shrill scream.

I wan out of my room, past Lisa’s room, where I heard Grandma laughing, and ran into Mom and Dad’s room to find Lisa lying on the floor. There was a few specks of blood, I think it is red paint, on her temples.

Suddenly Lisa shot up and said, “(Rated R) Now playing at a theater near you!” and collapsed. I put parenthesis around the “Rated R” because I’m not sure whether Lisa said that or not.

Sometime during the dream, I heard who would be the culprit in this play. A man named The Lava. His nickname scared me, and I’m sure he would be out to get me…

My heart was pumping fast, and I could not fall back to sleep for a while. I was scared. But Lisa’s act was supposed to be a touch of comedy! Alas, I could never tell what this dream meant.

Then, I fell back to sleep.

The man,
The Lava,
Kills people whenever he wants.
He scares,
He kills,
Just whenever he wants.
I fear him
He could be out to get me.
The Lava
The man
Kills people whenever he wants.

I was awake very early in the morning. I could not fall asleep, since the dream had my body wide awake.

I could not fall asleep.

Suddenly, I saw a shadow from the outside.

It came up to my window.

Is that you?

Some power made my blinds open. I saw a man.

Lava, is that you?

He scratched against my window.

He punched a hold and entered my room.

He went up to me…

A weird romantic tip from the dream world.

A most strangest tip to express your truest love to your significant other came to me last night in a dream.

Go to your kitchen and decorate the outside of your microwave oven with flowers and love notes. Fill the love notes with words expressing your deepest love and utmost appreciation for all the wonderful things your lover has done to enrich your life and make you a happier, better person.

Then open the door to the microwave, throw in two whole potatoes and heat them up until they explode.
