I broke the law.

I was walking through the parking lot one night
When my eyes beheld a rather curious sight
It was at that moment when I suddenly found
An unopened envelope on the ground
I broke the law
I broke the law

I picked it up and saw to my surprise
A name and address I didn’t recognise
I admit that I was looking for a thrill
When I opened it and saw an unpaid bill
I broke the law
I broke the law

Suddenly I got a nasty fright
When flashing blue lights shattered through the night
A policeman swiftly hauled me off to jail
Because he caught me reading someone’s mail
I broke the law
I broke the law

Hours later I was taken back
To where my innocence was so attacked
I saw a sight that nearly made me snap
Another envelope to set the trap
I broke the law
I broke the law

The band’s here.

How nice to know that you all want me right here
There’s one thing I need to make perfectly clear
I’m here at the bar and I’m drinking a beer
I’m having a great time because the band’s here

The music is lively and brings me great cheer
My troubles are melting and will disappear
My outlook is bold and there’s nothing to fear
I’m feeling alive because the band is here

I’m living my way through a difficult year
My future’s uncertain, the path is unclear
You don’t see me sad and I don’t shed a tear
Nothing else matters because the band’s here

How nice to know that you all want me right here
There’s one thing I need to make perfectly clear
I’m here at the bar and I’m drinking a beer
I’m having a great time because the band’s here

The man who kept going to jail.

The siren lights were blaring
He had his handcuffs slapped on
He’s gonna have to spend the night in jail

He got out the next morning
He was feeling like a jerk
There wasn’t much to do now
But he went in to work

Everyone kept staring
But they didn’t have much to say
They saw he wore the same clothes
He had on yesterday

Finally the time came
For everyone to go
But alas, our poor friend
Would never make it home

He was driving on the highway
But then he was stopped
He was suddenly pulled over
By a traffic cop

The officer walked over
Our friend hoped for the best
But suddenly the cop yelled out
“Sir, you’re under arrest.”

The siren lights were blaring
He had his handcuffs slapped on
He’s gonna have to spend the night in jail

After yet another night
They finally let him go
But our friend just stood there
He was standing near the door

“Why do you let me go?” he said
“Why bother with the bail?
By the time dusk rolls around
I’ll be back right here in jail!”

“It’s been like this each day this week
It’s been a living hell
But every time the sun goes down
I wind up back in jail!”

“So why do you let me go now?
No way is this the end
Tonight you’ll only pull me over
And arrest me once again!”

“If you don’t mind, I’d like to go
And get myself some rest.”
But before he went outside the door
He was placed under arrest!

The siren lights were blaring
He had his handcuffs slapped on
He’s gonna have to spend the night in jail

Long drives.

Life’s getting stressful,
I need to escape from the load.
I get in my car and
I answer the call of the road.

Chorus:
Going on long drives,
My favorite hobby.
Bringing my camera,
Taking good pictures of the night time sky.

I drive in the darkness
I leave all my worries behind.
I see down the highway
As far as my headlights can shine.

Chorus

I pull in my driveway,
My long drive has just reached an end.
Back to my troubles,
I can’t wait to do this again.

Chorus

I am all right.

It seems that my life’s going nowhere fast,
Trying hard to shed my crooked past,
But just the other day I was dancing with my cat,
Perfectly content with the things that I still have,
I am all right
I am all right

Look at me and look at what I have
There’s nothing you can take away from my stash
You can even try to dig around my trash
I may not have much and not much cash
But I got me and that’s all right
That’s the reason why my future looks so bright

I’m out of work and struggling to get by,
Money problems escalating high,
I may be feeling low but my spirits are still high
I’m content enough to just spread my wings and fly
I am all right
I am all right

Look at me, my problems bog me down
yet I’m floating three feet off the ground
there’s much more to life than to wait and drown
‘Cause I got me and that’s all right
That’s the reason why my future looks so bright

Riding my bike in the stars.

My job is getting stressful
My work just keeps on piling
The day proceeds to drive me insane

The day gets quite exhausting
As I escalate my efforts
Just to keep my head inside the game

But parked outside the office
My motorcycle’s waiting
To save me from this 8-hour farce

My bike is going to take off
Like an airplane off the runway
I’ll be riding my bike in the stars
I’ll be riding my bike in the stars

At 5 o’clock the engine roars
My motorcycle climbs the sky
To leave this hectic world on the ground

My bike departs the atmosphere
As it enters outer space
Peaceful solitude is all around

Over in the distance
I can see the shining moon
I look a little farther and there’s Mars

I’m up here orbiting the earth
And I’m zooming round the cosmos
I’m riding my bike in the stars
I’m riding my bike in the stars

Soon it’s time for me to leave
As I head back to the Earth
And resume my tired life that’s plain and bland

After touching back down on the ground
I take one last glance at the sky
It won’t be long before I’m up there again

I wake up in the morning
And I start another day
A day that’s full of stress and mental scars

But the thought that keeps me going
Is the magic ride that’s waiting
I’ll be riding my bike in the stars
I’ll be riding my bike in the stars
I’ll be riding my bike in the stars
I’ll be riding my bike in the stars

Some lyrics in search of music.

he didn’t know where he was in life
he didn’t know who to ask
and when he tried to venture forth
he fell between the cracks

that was when he saw the light
and the big picture at once
he gently landed on the ground
of a world ruled by the sun

he looked around and began to smile
it was all making sense
he took a leap and began to fly
to the other side of the fence

no one knows what worlds await
when you reach the other side
you can either let go or hang on tight
but you better enjoy the ride

I hope you enjoyed this song I wrote
I made it up in verse
if you don’t like it, then that’s okay
there are songs that are worse
