Harry and Steve decided to go camping in the woods not far from where they lived. They found a spot to set up their tents and then decided to go exploring the woods while they waited for dusk to set in so they could start up a campfire for roasting marshmallows for making s’mores. This was truly a weekend the two friends were waiting for.
However, things began to go wrong as Harry and Steve took one wrong turn after another during their walk and soon found themselves lost deep in the woods. The sun had already set and it was now dark. Harry began grunting as he always did when he got frustrated.
“It’s dark,” Harry said. “It’s dark.”
“I know,” Steve replied.
“I can’t believe you forgot to pack a flashlight.”
“You didn’t bring one either.”
“Steve, shut up. Just shut up.” There was silence before Harry returned to grunting. “It’s dark. We’ve been out here for who knows how long. What time is it anyway?”
“I don’t know, I don’t have a watch.”
“Forgot to pack that too?” Harry shot back.
“No, I just don’t have a watch.”
“Why?”
Steve hesitated before replying, “I never did learn to tell the time.”
“WHAT?” Harry shouted. “You don’t know how to tell the time? Everyone knows how to tell the time! I know how to tell the time!”
“All right, so what time is it?” Steve asked.
“I don’t know, I don’t have a watch.”
